Mark has taught privately for over 15 years to students of all ages and levels. His focus on the fundamentals of music - melody, harmony, and rhythm - are what students should expect. Technique, tone, and reading music help to enhance students' understanding of their respective instrument.

Mark has a B.A. in Special Education and has taught children from all ages (not only music, but English, Math, Social Studies, and Science).

His experience in adapting to each students' needs (regardless of their age or ability) ensure that they get the most out of every lesson.

Mark Terranova - bassist and educator, resides in Western New York area with his jazz trio CMD, as well as Prime Time Funk. He is an in-demand sideman as well, having performed with artists such as Steve Stevens, Joan Osborne, Steve Gadd, Mitch Ryder, Gary Lewis, Daniel Emmet, Pia Toscano, and many others.

Mark also works for Ferdinand J. Smith on jingles and other musical endeavors under his friend and mentor Casey Filiaci.

When he's not gigging or recording, Mark teaches private bass, drums, and guitar lessons to students of all ages.

Currently, Mark is working with his jazz trio, CMD, on their latest release entitled “Decembersong.” An amalgam of interpretations of yuletide songs from the medieval era and other well-known Christmas songs. This album follows their first two albums which can be sampled on this website, or streamed on iTunes, Spotify, and all other major platforms.
